What we collect
Depending on how you use Motif, we may process:
- Identity and contact details (name, email, phone, shipping address)
- Order and payment metadata (processor handles card numbers; we do not store full PAN)
- Account preferences, wishlist and size selections
- Device and usage data (IP, browser, pages viewed) via cookies and similar tech
- Messages you send to support, press or careers
How we use data
We use personal data to:
- Fulfil orders, returns and customer support
- Create and manage your account
- Send transactional email (confirmations, shipping updates)
- Send marketing email if you opt in — you can unsubscribe anytime
- Improve the site, prevent fraud and secure our systems
- Meet legal and accounting obligations
Legal bases
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on contract performance (orders), legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement), consent (marketing cookies and newsletters) and legal obligation where required.
Sharing
We share data with service providers who help us operate — payment processors, shipping carriers, email and hosting vendors — under contracts that limit use to our instructions. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect Motif and our customers.
We do not sell personal information.
Retention
Order records are kept as required for tax and consumer law. Account data stays while your account is active. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Support tickets are retained for a reasonable period to resolve follow-ups.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of processing, and object to certain uses. Contact privacy@motif.example. You may also lodge a complaint with your local regulator.
Children
Motif is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.
